Release 1.8 : Dance and Chill with Lü

· release,games,app,software,update

This new year is marked with a brand new Lü release. Music and meditation are honoured in this release. Did you know that both of these activities have a strong impact on brain development in children? In previous releases, we did target straight on: memory, logic and mathematical skills; so we decided to focus on a wider approach to neurological development for this one! 2 more tools helping to give these little humans the best development possible.

You will find that we have also added some core features in this release such as more languages and lighting settings but more importantly added a youtube app. As most teachers use youtube in multiple ways to complement their teachings, you now have a youtube app right in your Lü menu. All features are described in more depth below.

Danza

Dancing to wicked beats in the jungle, it doesn’t get much better than this. We even got rid of the snakes for you! No danger, just pure fun.

In collaboration with an incredible award-winning Canadian band Valaire, we designed this game to get kids moving to music and learning new dance moves and linking them in a choreography.

Why dancing?

The obvious reasons are to increase the kids’ activity level, coordination and balance. But, our reasoning gets a bit deeper than that; as backed by a study from Harvard Medical school:

“Dancing helps reduce stress, increases levels of the feel-good hormone serotonin, and helps develop new neural connections, especially in regions involved in executive function, long-term memory, and spatial recognition.”

You will have a ton of fun with this one, who knows, you might, yourself, steal some of the moves to show off at your next staff party!

PS: Go check out Valaire and their side project Qualité Motel definitely worth a listen.

Gaia

The time is now, be the present and get chilled out kids in the same token. Meditation has long proven itself to be a beneficial tool for kids and adults alike and what could be better settings than your gym tackle physical health from this angle. The only thing we ask you is: try not to fall asleep!

Aside from relaxation in this application we wanted to target anxiety, self-awareness, focus and social-emotional learning. All directly related in kids’ overall wellbeing.

Other science proven benefits to meditation for kids

"Participation in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction* (or meditation) is associated with changes in gray matter concentration in brain regions involved in learning and memory processes, emotion regulation, self-referential processing, and perspective taking."

Youtube App

Youtube is a great tool that can complement almost any teachings. Tutorials, music, how to’s, gameplay and more. Having a Youtube player app in Lü was an obvious development choice. We are very happy to tell you that it is now available. We only ask one thing, be reasonable with the cat videos.

Asian Language Support

Producing code to support Asian Languages was very humbling to us. Are we getting that big? (how’s that for humility?) When we started this adventure we had no idea it was going to take us this far. Our goal was set out to empower schools and learning environments to offer greater teaching experiences to as many kids as possible. Asia is definitely a milestone for this mission. 정말 고맙습니다

Installation self-check

To ensure every Lü is installed in pristine conditions we have developed a step by step installation check application to accompany installers in making sure all is working properly and that your new Lü is well settled in its new home. The installation self-check will launch with every new Lü installation.

Lighting settings

In the small but useful category, the master control for the lights can now be accessed from within the Lü settings. Light it up!

Happy playing y'all!
